Mainboard Not Compatible To Windows 7?

Windows 7 mostly will not work and compatible on older PC hardware that’s why you should upgrade your motherboard at least to 2009/2010 production to make it compatible.  Please note:  not every old hardware incompatible with win 7 but most of the are.

Blue Screen of Death

If you have the windows 7 Cd there’s nothing wrong for trying to install it but make sure you backed up your data first or install the windows 7 on other partition. Any hardware with Vista driver usually will be running ok on windows 7.

Most hardware trouble is the VGA and Sound card. These are the most critical part on installing windows 7 on older hardware specs. For example on sound card, you will have the jack slots different between windows xp and windows 7.

On your windows XP the blue slot could be line out to speaker/headphones while on windows 7 it could be a line in jack. Also the VGA software and drivers, sometimes it will not work and it required latest software to run on windows 7.

And even till now there’s so many people having trouble on their soundcard (including laptop). Sometimes it will blue screen of death, computer crash and not responding, and many more bugs on your windows 7  screen especially the aero theme (where it should be running fine but without proper driver aero theme can’t start).

So, how to install windows 7 on your older hardware specs? If you found the above problems when running windows 7 you should revert back to Xp or (option 2) is to upgrade your motherboard.
