Russian Drone Can Hunt And Shoot Another Drone

Drones are generally used to capture images from the air or for entertainment for their owners. The more sophisticated development of this device allows the embedding of firearms to hunt other drones.

Reported by Engadget, Monday (1/4/2019), a drone equipped with a firearm or shotgun comes from Almaz Antey, a Russian defense contractor. Almaz Antey produces Triumf S-400 surface-to-air missiles which cause 'cracks' between Turkey and the US.

Drones that stand on the tail take off are able to fly like airplanes for greater efficiency, giving a distance of 40 minutes while packing a fully automatic Vepr-12 rifle with 10-round magazine.

The drone was built by "Student Design Bureau of Aviation Modeling" at the Moscow Aviation Institute for Almaz Antey. This is of the same type used by mining companies, farmers and others to survey pipelines and other installations.

Operators who wear helmets use live video links to fly drones and aim guns, which are tucked into the nose of the aircraft. A shotgun, not a rifle or a gun chosen for the same reason that is used for duck hunting, a wide spread pattern makes it easier to hit targets.
