How To Delete Your Photos From Facebook, Myspace, Flickr

German software companies create software to remove traces of you on the internet.

X-Pire allows users of social networking, like Facebook, MySpace, and Flickr to delete their data, including photos, posts, comments, and others on the internet.

Although there is a social networking site has added a feature to delete a photo or a history of accounts, Backes said the experience showed that not all photos really deleted from the server.

In addition, most social networking users is a passive user. They put a lot of information in the accounts themselves, but do not care for that account and some even forgot his passwords.

X-pire claims to encrypt images and an expiration date. With call of the photos via a web browser, the software asks for a key on server, if the date is already expired.

X-pire currently only works with the Firefox browser and only tested as a prototype. Backes announced at the event with Aigner that the trial will be completed next week. Then the subscribers will have to pay 9.90 euros per month.

The currently available for downloading X-pire prototype provides only limited adjustments. The program can handle about any expiration dates, so they extend or shorten as needed. Captchas, which could offer protection against bots, still didn't integrate well.

Generally, the software can do nothing against a reproduction of the images via screenshot. This software also claimed very easy to use, especially for lay people who didn't know how to protect their data.
